Twice Hung -
Henley Mile Brewery

The Story: William Booth was born at Hall End Farm in Beaudesert in 1776.

Booth was accused of murdering his brother John while revisiting Hall End on 19 February 1808, but was acquitted for lack of evidence. After the Napoleonic Wars, Booth converted the top floor of his farmhouse into a fortified workshop where he produced forgeries of banknotes, coins, and other material of monetary value.

Once his activities came to light, he was arrested, charged and found guilty on all counts and sentenced to hang. Booth's public execution in 1812 was bungled, and he fell through the scaffold's trap door to the floor. Within two hours, he was hanged again and died. He is buried in St Mary Church in Handsworth, but following a change of county boundary, his body was disinterred and reburied.

He was ’Twice tried, twice hung, and twice buried’

Smooth and easy-drinking, the body is light yet satisfying, finishing crisp and dry with a lingering, traditional bitterness that makes it effortlessly pintable.

Perkin's Prescription -
Henley Mile Brewery

The Story: Thomas Richard Perkins was the pharmacist in Henley from 1896 to 1945. He was actively involved in the town being a lay preacher at the Methodist Church and a trustee of the Henley Charities amongst other things.

He also had an avid interest in Railways and wrote numerous articles. In 1932 he completed the unique task of travelling over the whole railway system of the British Isles, some 22,000 miles.

"No one had done so before, with the curtailment of services under Beeching, no one will ever do so again."

A refreshing pale ale with approachable character, shimmering golden hue that immediately invites the nose with light, crisp aromas.  Clean and easy-drinking, the finish is bright with a pleasant bitterness that lingers just enough to leave you reaching for another pint — the perfect prescription for a warm day or session in the taproom

Steady Rolling Man -
Deya Brewery

Steady Rolling Man. Our pale ale. Inspired by the ridiculously tasty hoppy beers we fell for, we got brewing our own versions, over and over again, while listening to the blues greats.

The heady concoction of old-time blues records and juicy American hops transfixed us from the start and the Steady Rolling Man was born in these sessions! Incredibly soft and delicate with intense tropical fruit hop aromatics and saturation, this is our vision of the perfect pale ale.
